Anita June Smith
Our beloved mother, sister and grandmother Anita Smith passed away on December 16th, 2022 at the age of 77 in Portland, OR. Anita was born and raised in Bandon, OR and moved to Portland in 1990. After graduating high school, Anita went on to obtain a medical/clerical certification from Southwestern Oregon Community College in 1984. Anita previously worked for the IRS and US Postal Service before retiring.
She will be remembered by her laugh, her talent in baking, her stories of her childhood- what it was like growing up on a farm and her love for the Oregon Coast. She was a kind soul who would help anyone in need, and she will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle Smith, her granddaughters Jaclyn Smith, Tabitha Hoover and Chanda Burton, her great granddaughter Jasmine Hoover, her sisters Leona Golden, Lois Hart, Lorraine Hawkins, her brother Earl Robertson and many nieces and nephews as well as her sweet cat Harley.
At Anita’s request, no funeral service will be held and instead she asked that family and friends donate to Randall’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.
