Lois Gene Blair Roberts

Lois Gene Blair Roberts died December 23, 2017. An artist, a retired teacher and political activist, Roberts was a proudly independent woman.

Born in Ohio, she moved with her family to California, graduated from Campbell Union High School (1950) and later earned her teaching credential at San Jose State.

After living in Fremont for 30 years, she retired to San Francisco, embracing the city life, volunteering as an usher and attending a weekly peace vigil.

Survivors include daughters Jennifer Espinosa of Arcadia, Calif., Rachel Barrett of Medford, Ore., and Rebecca Galloway of Portland, Ore., four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister, Linda Diamond, of Jackson, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Sat., Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco, 1187 Franklin Street.
